JOHANNESBURG - Fencing is one of the oldest Olympic sports and it’s gaining traction in Soweto.
The township is blessed with hopefuls who have what it takes to become household names.
There is talent and passion for fencing, but that’s not enough for the champions to compete at the highest level.
But with the right support, 12-year-old under 15 national fencing champion Mpho Mahlala and other hopefuls will have every chance of challenging for honours in the Olympics and other top events.
