Modise in court to face animal cruelty charges

JOHANNESBURG - National Assembly Speaker, Thandi Modise, and an AfriForum prosecutor will face each other in the Potchefstroom Magistrate's Court in North West on Tuesday.

Modise is facing six animal cruelty charges.

The NSPCA found neglected animals at her North West farm in 2014.

Pigs were eating carcasses of dead pigs.

NSPCA inspector, Andries Venter said it was the worst case of farm animal cruelty he had seen in 20 years.
