JOHANNESBURG - More vaccines are expected to arrive in the country this week after a batch arrived over the weekend.
The government plans to bring in around 80,000 doses every two weeks.
The first batch of Johnson & Johnson doses arrived from Belgium last month.
That was after the AstraZeneca vaccine was dropped due to its inefficacy in fighting the COVID-19 strain first identified in South Africa.
Over 140,000 of South Africa's health workers have received the Johnson & Johnson vaccine.
