SA receives more J&J vaccines

JOHANNESBURG - More vaccines are expected to arrive in the country this week after a batch arrived over the weekend.

The government plans to bring in around 80,000 doses every two weeks.

The first batch of Johnson & Johnson doses arrived from Belgium last month.

That was after the AstraZeneca vaccine was dropped due to its inefficacy in fighting the COVID-19 strain first identified in South Africa.

Over 140,000 of South Africa's health workers have received the Johnson & Johnson vaccine.
