JOHANNESBURG - The mother of one of the firefighters who died during a fire at the Bank of Lisbon building says she and her family are still suffering.
Beauty Maropana says she is sick and tired of the government and that they need to take care of their people.
"I am not happy because the government is not supporting me with anything. I don't have a house because I was furthering Siphiwe's studies.
"Siphiwe has passed away and nothing is happening and nobody is looking after me and my mother. I am sick and tired of this government."
The Bank of Lisbon building was successfully demolished in the Johannesburg city centre on Sunday.
The ill-fated building housed thousands of government employees.
A fire inside the structure saw three firefighters lose their lives in 2018.
Two thousand people were evacuated from the area ahead of the planned demolition of the Bank of Lisbon building.
