JOHANNESBURG - Minister of Justice and Correctional Services Michael Masutha has agreed to the extradition of Mozambique's former finance minister Manuel Chang.
The US had also requested he stand trial in America, but Masutha says justice will be best served by sending Chang back to Mozambique.
He was arrested in South Africa in December last year, on an international arrest warrant.
Chang's wanted in the US and Mozambique on allegations of conspiracy to commit fraud, and taking millions of dollars in bribes.
It's linked to a $2-billion loan scandal, involving two banks - Credit Suisse and VTB Russia.
