CREIGHTON - The Creighton community in KwaZulu-Natal are living in fear this women's month.

Minenhle Buthelezi and Amanda Zulu, two teenagers from the area, were hacked to death with an axe in the early hours of Sunday morning.

It's alleged the 20-year-old suspect -- who is known to the community -- also dismembered their bodies.

Sisanda Majozi was one of those who paid tribute.

"We've known each other since 2018 when we were in Grade 8.

"We all lived together in our rented homes, we did everything together. I shared a desk with Amanda, I asked her everything," Majozi said.

"They were very nice people, they were happy people. Whenever we'd have an argument, we'd sit each other down, and talk about it.

"I left them in our accommodation on Saturday, with plans to see them later. I asked them if they weren't going home over the weekend and they said, they had a lot of washing to do."
