The 32-year-old mother of two, Thokozile Kubheka, was found dead in the home she shared with him in Katlehong.

The boyfriend was rearrested the same evening.

The only things Thokozile Kubheka’s family have left are memories, pictures and videos of her.

In a WhatsApp voice note, she sent to a friend a few weeks ago – she was complaining about the abuse she’d endured.

"He went to my mother’s house and he bought petrol and said he wants to burn the house because he thought I was inside. The guy is crazy, my friend. But we found him and he is in jail now”.

The voice notes were sent after her boyfriend allegedly doused Thokozile’s mother’s home with petrol – when she left him about two months before her murder.

Fortunately, no one was injured and the fire was put out in time.

Now, the mother of two young daughters aged 11 and 6 is dead.

Her family and friends say she left the man several times, but he would apparently threaten her life and that of her family and children, whom he didn’t father.

The man accused of killing Thokozile made his first appearance at the Boksburg magistrate’s court on Monday and community members were there to support the victim’s family.

Police have confirmed that a suspect has been arrested and will appear again in court next Monday.
