DURBAN - The N3 remains closed from Cedara in KZN to Harrismith in the Free State on Thursday.

The SANDF has now been deployed along the route.

The N3 Toll concession says it's aware of the strategic importance of this transport corridor.

It said it's doing everything in its power to help restore mobility as soon as possible.

Cleanup operations and urgent maintenance work are still being performed on stretches of the road.

Plans are being developed in consultation with law enforcement agencies to prepare for the re-opening of the route.
