The SANDF has now been deployed along the route.

It said it's doing everything in its power to help restore mobility as soon as possible.
Cleanup operations and urgent maintenance work are still being performed on stretches of the road.
Plans are being developed in consultation with law enforcement agencies to prepare for the re-opening of the route.
