JOHANNESBURG - A dysfunctional police service is to blame for Nathaniel Julies' killing, that's according to the lawyer of one of the people accused in connection with the incident.
Jeff Maluleke acknowledges an innocent life was lost but questions who is responsible.
"An innocent life was lost unnecessarily but where does the blame lay? The blame lays in the dysfunctionality of the police services," Maluleke said.
Three police officers charged in connection with the killing of the teenager are appearing in court again.
Their formal bail bid is expected to continue.
