JOHANNESBURG - The National Liquor Traders Council has welcomed the lifting of restrictions on the sale of booze.
However, it says this could be a political move.
Sales are now allowed as normal until 11pm.
Lucky Ntimane, the convener for National Liquor Traders Council, said, "this is a welcome relief though we had said back on 12 September that the environment was right to move the country to alert level one."
South Africa moved to lockdown Alert Level 1 at midnight.
President Cyril Ramaphosa made the announcement on Thursday.
The curfew begins at midnight ending at 4am.
