JOHANNESBURG - Nehawu is disappointed with the Constitutional Court ruling on the public sector wage bill.

It wanted to appeal a Labour Court decision to declare the 2018 multi-year agreement invalid.

Had the agreement remained in force public servants would have had pay hikes of CPI plus 1 percent till 2021.

The government reneged on the deal, saying it was never ratified by National Treasury.

Nehawu says the highest court in the land may have ruled, but the matter is far from over.
