Nene denies promoting funding from PIC for his son's business

JOHANNSBURG - Finance Minister, Nhlanhla Nene has denied allegations that his son’s oil company benefited from Public Investment Corporation (PIC) funds while he chaired the PIC board.

“I deny that I acted inappropriately towards any investments by the PIC, Nene said.

“I deny any and every allegation also that I knowingly acted to promote any funding by the PIC involving my son as the EFF has said in the social media."

A message has been circulating on social media in the past week, claiming the PIC gave funding to Siya Nene’s oil company.

 “I indeed deny that I promoted any funding from the PIC for any business involving my son and it is a matter that we are pursuing with the PIC to obtain any evidence if there is anything of that major.”
