Nigerian protesters demand to meet Buhari

JOHANNESBURG - A group of Nigerian protesters are demanding to meet their president outside the Sheraton hotel in Pretoria.

President Muhammadu Buhari is meeting Nigerians living in the country.

They're calling for the release of jailed Nigerian activist Omoyele Sowore and want to tell Buhari about their plight in South Africa.

Meanwhile, the South African media and other journalists haven't been allowed to attend the meeting.

Buhari is in the country on a three-day state visit following attacks on foreign nationals.

He and President Cyril Ramaphosa met on Thursday to strengthen ties between the two countries.
