DURBAN - Former ANC KZN deputy chairperson Michael Mabuyakhulu is appearing in the High Court in Durban for fraud.
The trial has caused some controversy as the presiding judge is allowing only those who are vaccinated to be part of the proceedings.
The fraud and money-laundering charges against Mabuyakhulu and 15 co-accused relate to the 2012 North Sea Jazz festival, which never took place.
The KZN provincial government allegedly paid R28-million for the event during Mabuyakhulu's tenure as economic development MEC.
