PORT ELIZABETH - Nelson Mandela Bay won't impose water restrictions -- at least not for now.
That's despite the current water crisis in the city.
Mayor Nqaba Bhanga gave a briefing earlier on the ongoing violent protests.
He says the water consumption must be reduced to below 250 million litres per day.
“Our dam levels are sitting at 13.38 percent, which is very worrying," Bhanga said.
"We will be launching a comprehensive communications strategy next week where we will expand on the Metro’s alternative interventions and contingency plans as the drought situation enters the next phase."
