JOHANNESBURG - The NPA said it will do all it can to retrieve the R255-million spent on the 2014 Free State Asbestos Auditing project.
Evidence presented at the state capture inquiry has indicated how prices were grossly inflated.
The Hawks swooped in on high-ranking several officials involved in the project on Wednesday.
Seven people were arrested by the Hawks in connection with the Free State Asbestos project.
Raids took place across Gauteng, the Free State and KwaZulu-Natal, with five companies also being questioned.
A search and seizure operation was conducted at Blackhead Consulting, whose director Edwin Sodi appeared before the State Capture Inquiry on Tuesday.
The Special Investigating Unit said it's been investigating the matter since last year.
An ex-ANC MP is expected to hand himself over to police on Thursday morning.
