NSFAS has faced challenges with students complaining about the lack of funding in different institutions.

“If you go to the rural areas properly and into small towns, how little people know about NSFAS, so students will tells us that it’s the first time that they hear about NSFAS and when we explain to them you could see that the hope has started to flare up in their eyes,” said NSFAS Administrator Dr Randall Carolissen.

“We have been working with the Department of Basic Education to inculcate into the Life Orientation course. It is clear that it doesn’t reach students.”
