NSFAS students don't have to pay registration: Nzimande

JOHANNESBURG - From now on, NSFAS students will not be required to pay registration fees, even if they owe historic debt.

This is according to a guarantee from Higher Education Minister Blade Nzimande.

He stated this development will be properly communicated to all institutions in the coming week.

The minister urged students experiencing problems in this regard to contact his department.

This comes after protests against student debt turned violent at several universities.
