CAPE TOWN - Alert officers stumbled upon a crime scene on one of Cape Town beaches.
They were on a routine early-morning patrol when they made a gruesome find.
Cape Town law-enforcement officers attached to the marine division spotted a vehicle on the Bay View section of Strandfontein, heading towards the beach on Tuesday.
The occupants looked suspicious.
They observed four men walking towards the ocean and decided to approach the vehicle.
On checking the vehicle they found the bodies of two adult males covered with blankets. Another body was found in the bakkie.
The four men, aged between 26 and 54, were immediately arrested.
According to the police’s Brigadier Novela Potelwa, the deceased had stab and gunshot wounds.
She says information led the officers to a house in Eersterivier believed to be the initial crime scene.
The circumstances surrounding the murders are now being investigated by the Anti-Gang Crime Unit.
