PORT ELIZABETH - Pastor Timothy Omotoso is expected to apply for bail at the Port Elizabeth High Court.
His legal team has also submitted an application for the court to conduct an inquiry into the reasons for the protracted delays in the case.
The Nigerian televangelist of Jesus Dominion International Church has been awaiting trial for three years.
Omotoso faces about 97 charges, which include human trafficking, racketeering, and the rape of women and girls from his church.
His legal team has also submitted an application requesting the court to dismiss the evidence of the two witnesses who have testified so far.
Omotoso's co-accused Lusanda Sulani and Zukiswa Sitho are out on bail.
