COVID-19: Experts deployed to ECape town

BURGERSDORP - The Burgersdorp community has been hit hard by COVID-19.

Eastern Cape Health MEC Sindiswa Gomba said 102 learners, one teacher and 15 members of the community have tested positive for COVID-19.

All the people who have tested positive for the virus are in isolation.

"Health teams have been placed in the same places to monitor their symptoms," Gomba said.

A team of experts and tracers have been deployed to the province following this outbreak.

The MEC said her department is working with the Department of Education to control infections.
