Parent says racism rife at Laerskool Schweizer-Reneke

A Laerskool Schweizer-Reneke parent says racism is rife despite denials by the school's governing body.

SCHWEIZER-RENEKE - A mother of one of the pupils at Laerskool Schweizer-Reneke says racism is rife.

The North West school is in hot water after a photo allegedly showed black and white grade R pupils being segregated at their desks.

The school claims there are no integration problems there.

Some classes have been disrupted on Friday.

Meanwhile, a voice note -- purportedly sent to white parents at the school -- is doing the rounds.

In the recording, a community member tells parents they're allowed to keep children at home due to safety concerns.

A teacher has been suspended in the wake of an ongoing probe into the allegedly racist matter.
