JOHANNESBURG - Parents in Gauteng say the process of finding space for their children for the 2020 academic year is frustrating and chaotic.
The department has now extended placements for grade one and grade eight pupils to 30 November.
Aggrieved parents say the online admission process is flawed.
“This [online] system must fall, we are very frustrated as parents, we didn’t go to work, we are tired of this thing,” said one parent.
“Government must come up with a plan.”
Other parents have called for the department to return to the old manual and physical application system.
Education MEC Panyaza Lesufi will give a briefing about the challenges with the placements process on Monday afternoon.
