Parts of Joburg face water cuts

JOHANNESBURG - Johannesburg residents are finding themselves without water on Tuesday morning.

Johannesburg Water said this is the result of a power outage at the Eikenhoff sub-station.

All areas getting supply directly from Rand Water will be affected.

These include parts of Roodepoort, Randburg, Langlaagte and Soweto.

Water tankers will be placed at some clinics, schools, municipal offices, police stations and libraries.

The outage was caused by a fire at the sub-station.

Teams are assessing the damage and residents have been asked to use water sparingly.

It is unclear when repair work will be completed.
