PORT ELIZABETH - Nearly half of the penguin population in Algoa Bay is under threat due to an oil spill.

400-litres of fuel were dumped into the ocean as a result of overflow during a transfer between two ships last week.

Authorities are investigating whether South African Marine Fuels is liable.

eNCA reporter Sandy McCowen paid a visit to the sanctuary where oil-slicked penguins are being rescued.
