JOHANNESBURG - Health Minister Joe Phaahla is rubbishing claims that government is micro-managing the nation.
"I want to dismiss issue of overreach, we have no desire to have draconian powers. They say we want to manage people, arrest them and force them to drink medicine... there's nothing like that," said Phaahla.
President Cyril Ramaphosa last night lifted the National State of Disaster.
The announcement has been met with criticism.
Ramaphosa addressed South Africans on the response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
