Protesters have blocked roads in Ennerdale, south of Johannesburg, this morning.
JOHANNESBURG - Protests are expected in Ennerdale in southern Johannesburg on Monday.
Residents are embarking on a total shutdown.
This follows similar protests against service delivery in other parts of the country in the past two weeks.
Police and JMPD officers have been in the area since 3am and dispersed protesters to allow traffic to move smoothly.
JMPD spokesperson Wayne Minnaar stated there was an attempt to start fires.
"The fires have been extinguished and the situation is under control," he said.
Police are monitoring the situation.
