An identikit of the rape suspect which the Family Violence Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit in Port Elizabeth is attempting to find with the help of the community.
PORT ELIZABETH - The Family Violence Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit in Port Elizabeth is seeking the community’s assistance in tracing a rape suspect.
Police said at about 9am on Monday 14 August a 21-year-old woman was on her way to work when an unknown man approached her.
The man then threatened her with a knife and ordered her into the bushes where he allegedly raped her.
The woman managed to escape and informed her neighbour, who was walking nearby, of the incident.
The suspect is estimated to be about 20 to 25 years old, of a medium build and about 1,6m tall.
Anyone who can assist police in tracing the suspect or may recognise him from the facial identikit compiled by the Facial Identification Unit is asked to contact D/Sgt Ntombokolo Makubalo on 071 352 4733 or Crime Stop 08600 10111 or their nearest police station.
