JOHANNESBURG - Police confirmed on Sunday that they have raided the property of EFF leader Julius Malema's bodyguard, Adriaan Snyman.

The raid in Durban came after Snyman was caught on camera handing over what was believed to be a rifle to Malema.

The incident happened at the EFF’s fifth birthday celebration in East London last month.

Malema is seen in the video firing shots into the air.

Lobby group AfriForum has laid a charge against Malema, while Black First Land First did the same against Snyman.

BLF claims Snyman should be held responsible since he handed Malema the gun.
