Police recover drugs worth over R1m in Cape Town

File: A joint Hawks Narcotics Enforcement Bureau (SANEB) and Crime Intelligence disruptive operation recoverd drugs valued at just over a million rand.

WESTERN CAPE - The Hawks' Narcotics Enforcement Bureau (SANEB) and Crime Intelligence disruptive operation recovered over R1-million worth of Mandrax tablets on Tuesday.

The Hawks say the operation resulted in the recovery of up to 24 000 Mandrax tablets from an abandoned vehicle that was parked near a local hotel in the vicinity of the Cape Town International Airport.

The vehicle and the drugs have been seized for further investigation.

Arrests are expected to be made pending the on-going investigation.
