Themane was murdered, allegedly by a gang of teenagers who filmed the incident.

When residents arrived at Polokwane Police Station, they demanded Themane’s death be the last of its kind and they threatened to take the law into their own hands.

Police are promising to respond to the demands.

However, organisers of the march say arrests aren’t enough and are threatening to lobby for boycotting elections if the suspects don’t remain in jail.

Themane will be laid to rest on Saturday.
