Power outages hit parts of KZN after storm

DURBAN - Power outages have hit several parts of KwaZulu-Natal after a storm damaged Eskom infrastructure.

Areas affected by the storm include Ladysmith, Escort, Nkandla, Hlabisa, Hluhluwe, Mtubatuba, Nongoma and Nqutu.

The extent of the damage is still being assessed.

Residents are being advised to treat all installations as live for safety reasons.

Eskom is also urging people to stay away from low-hanging conductors and fallen structures.
