PP finds Magashule's conduct in Vrede project amounts to maladministration

JOHANNESBURG - Public Protector, Busisiwe Mkhwebane has found former Free State Premier, Ace Magashule and former MEC, Mosebenzi Zwane failed to practice oversight in the Vrede dairy farm project.

The project saw millions of rands, earmarked for developing a dairy project in the Free State making its way into the accounts of Gupta associates.

Mkhwebane has also found that there was political interference and improper conduct.

She says they failed to execute oversight responsibilities entrusted to them by the constitution.

The public protector released a number of investigative reports for the third quarter media briefing for the 2020/2021 financial year.
