The Eastern Cape is among the provinces with a high number of infections. It's confirmed over 500 cases.
The province already has over 500 confirmed cases.
Health Minister Zweli Mkhize has given directives to properly prepare the province for a spike.
Mkhize said specialists coming from Cuba will also be deployed to the province.
Denosa provincial secretary Khaya Sodidi said the deployment will come in handy.
"We’ve been having concerns about capacity in the province," said Sodidi.
"We have raised it directly with her office and the premier's office," Sodidi said.
"The premier apologised for mishaps which have happened. The plea was that the MEC should be given a chance so that she can take us through these turbulent times."
Nelson Mandela Bay university where 800 beds have been set aside, is now serving as a quarantine site.
