JOHANNESBURG - Johannesburg mayor Herman Mashaba has accused President Cyril Ramaphosa of making false promises to Alexandra residents.
He said the promise of building a million houses in the township is unrealistic.
Mashaba is set to meet with Alexandra residents on Monday.
Alexandra has been a scene of violent service delivery protests in recent days.
On Thursday, Ramaphosa took his election campaign to the area, promising one million houses in five years.
But Mashaba said that’s nothing but hot air.
On Monday, Mashaba and city officials will present their development plan for Alexandra.
Meanwhile, the Human Rights Commission will begin its inquiry into possible human rights violations of residents.
