CAPE TOWN - A dismissed Cape Town principal is planning to take the Western Cape Education Department to the independent bargaining council for a review of the decision.

Wesley Neuman from Heathfield High School was found guilty on six counts after defying a mandate to reopen the school for matric pupils and staff members at the height of the covid-19 pandemic.

SADTU in the province says it’s disappointed at how the provincial education department chose to handle the matter.

The department however says it’s still awaiting a formal letter from his legal team.
