Private schools allowed to open on 1 February

JOHANNESBURG - Private schools pupils will be allowed to return to class on 1 February

Public schools will open two weeks later.

The latest regulations were published in the Government Gazette on Friday afternoon.

The government delayed the reopening of schools to prevent additional pressure on the healthcare system.

School management teams at government schools will return on Monday 25 January.

Teachers are expected to be back on 1 February.
