Proteas claim first 2019 World Cup win

JOHANNESBURG – South Africa registered their first 2019 Cricket World Cup win on Saturday.

Faf Du Plessis’s men defeated minnows Afghanistan by nine wickets in Cardiff.

The Proteas lost their first three games in the tournament after defeats to hosts England, minnows Bangladesh and favourites India.

Their last game against the West Indies was abandoned after persistent rain.
