PSA questions integrity of Nene's office

JOHANNESBURG - The Public Servants Association (PSA) says the integrity of the Finance Minister’s office is in doubt.

This follows Minister Nhlanhla Nene's admission that he met regularly with the Guptas, outside his office.

The union says it's been questioning the composition of the board of the Public Investment Corporation, especially the political influence of the chairperson.

This follows reports that Nene abused his power as PIC chairperson to influence a decision to fund a company partly owned by his son, Siyabonga.

The public servants' union says it's requested clarity from the PIC about the criteria used to select companies to fund.
