JOHANNESBURG - Some bad news for SA Express employees, the Public Enterprises Department says there's no money to pay outstanding salaries.
The department says the decision by the government, to commit R2-billion to Post Commencement Funding to try to save the airline, was made pre the COVID-19 pandemic.
Since then, the government has had to reprioritise spending and can provide no further funding to SA Express.
The department suggests employee representatives engage with the liquidators to try and secure the payment of outstanding amounts due to workers.
