JOHANNESBURG - Pupils at Schweizer-Reneke Primary are expected back at school today. 

That's after a racism row erupted there last week, causing the school to send some pupils home on Friday.

A picture showing black and white Grade R pupils seated separately in a classroom went viral on social media. 

UPDATE: Teacher in alleged racism incident suspended

The North West education department is investigating why the pupils were separated.

Meanwhile, the department in the Eastern Cape is starting an investigation today, after it emerged that black and white pupils were placed in different classrooms at a school in Matatiele.
