Rescue Care Paramedic Emma Westcott conducted a rescue of a different kind in New Castle on Thursday, 21 November 2019.
JOHANNESBURG - Used to treating life-threatening injuries and illnesses, Advanced Life Support paramedic Emma Westcott was not expecting to conduct a rescue of this kind on Thursday.
She was called to Newlands West, KwaZulu-Natal, where residents reported hearing a baby crying in a drain.
With the help of colleagues, Watson climbed into the drain to assess the infant's injuries only to find a puppy.
The puppy was brought up to the surface and has been taken by the SPCA for treatment.
Emergency paramedic enter the drain in search of a baby and are pleasantly surprised with a puppy.
