JOHANNESBURG - The National Union of Metalworkers of South Africa says it feels vindicated.
This after bus company Putco confirmed it won't be going ahead with retrenchments.
The union held meetings with management, where it was confirmed that plans to retrench 214 employees have been cancelled.
Job rotation will also stop on 15 March.
Numsa says the company has been presented with alternatives.
These include the employment of skilled artisans, instead of outsourcing maintenance work.
