Ramabulana suspect to remain behind bars

The president says the Limpopo student's alleged killer had a pending rape case against him.

JOHANNESBURG - The 28-year-old man accused of stabbing and raping Limpopo student Precious Ramabulana will remain behind bars throughout the festive season.

His case has been postponed to 30 January 2020.

The accused appeared at the Morebeng magistrate's court in Limpopo on Monday.

Angry community members held a demonstration outside the courtroom.

Ramabulana, a Capricorn TVET college student, was stabbed 52 times.

She was found dead at her residence off campus last week.

The suspect was apprehended after he was found in possession of her cellphone.

He's been charged with murder.
