JOHANNESBURG – President Cyril Ramaphosa has arrived in Alexandra and will address residents shortly.

Protests in the area erupted last week as irate residents took to the streets over a lack of service delivery.

Gauteng Premier David Makhura met with residents on Tuesday to accept a memorandum but it did little to appease angry residents.

Johannesburg Mayor Herman Mashaba has said he will meet with residents on Monday.

Mashaba has blamed the ANC for the unrest in the area.

According to the ANC’s election campaign schedule, Ramaphosa is expected to address residents at the Alexandra Stadium parking lot around 3pm.
