Ramaphosa apologises to Malema for GBV accusations

JOHANNESBURG - President Cyril Ramaphosa is calling on politicians to stop using gender-based violence for political gain.

On Tuesday, EFF leader, Julius Malema accused Ramaphosa of having abused his ex-wife after ANC MP Boy Mamabolo, accused Malema of abusing his wife.

Ramaphosa apologised to Malema for Mamabolo's comments.

Ramaphosa in his reply, reiterated that apartheid was indeed a crime against humanity.

Last week, former President FW de Klerk was criticised by EFF MPs for claiming otherwise.

Several anti-apartheid groups and foundations lashed out at De Klerk and he apologised earlier this week.

Ramaphosa was replying to the debate on his State of the Nation Address.
