Ramaphosa to appoint an NPA head who 'won't be captured'

CAPE TOWN - President Cyril Ramaphosa says plans are at an advanced stage to appoint a new NPA head.

Ramaphosa addressed diplomats on Tuesday morning.

It was the first time the president has appeared in public since doctors booked him off sick for a week.

"We're now moving forward to appoint the next NDPP," he said.

"A panel has been put in place it is going to interview possible candidate."

President Cyril Ramaphosa is receiving treatment for an upper respiratory tract infection.
