Ramaphosa directs South Africans in China to be repatriated

JOHANNESBURG - President Cyril Ramaphosa says South African citizens living in Wuhan city in China should be repatriated.

A number of them have expressed desire to return home.

According to the Presidency, none of those who will be returning have been diagnosed with coronavirus, known as COVID-19.

The exercise will be part of precautionary measures.

The South African nationals will be placed in quarantine for 21 days once they return home.

The latest figures from the Department of International Relations and Cooperation suggest there are 199 South Africans citizens living in Wuhan.
