Ramaphosa hands over land in KZN

DURBAN - President Cyril Ramaphosa handed over 4, 000 hectares of land to the community of KwaMkhwanazi in Empangeni, KwaZulu-Natal on Sunday.

The handover ceremony marks the successful transfer of land and ownership to that community.

The KwaMkwanazi community’s land dispossession predates the Native Land Act of 1913, which saw the forced removal of thousands of black people from their ancestral lands.

Earlier on, Ramaphosa and the KwaZulu Natal ANC leadership laid wreaths at a ceremony paying tribute to fallen heroes who paid the ultimate price during the struggle for liberation.
