JOHANNESBURG - The ANC Lillian Ngoyi Memorial Lecture has been cancelled due to apparent non-compliance with COVID-19 regulations.
President Cyril Ramaphosa was expected to address the lecture but has reportedly left as the venue.
The lecture in Lebowakgomo was hosted by the ANC Women’s League.
Under Adjusted Level 1 restrictions, gatherings are restricted to no more than 1,000 people indoors and no more than 2,000 people outdoors.
Where the venue is too small to accommodate these numbers with appropriate social distancing, then no more than 50 percent of the capacity of the venue may be used.
